These books are totally too big for six year olds. I didn’t even like it (at first) when I read it when I was eight. That’s not to say that I decide all things six year olds like but I mean, they wouldn’t have understood a word of it.

My sister is six and she’s read chapters of PS before. Just because you wouldn’t have understood doesn’t mean other people are lying.

If Alexi Sherman can read the Grapes of Wrath in kindergarten, then it is possible for a six year old to read a Harry Potter book.
I doubt very many have done so at six (unless their parents have read it to them as  bed time story - which in my mind does not count). Regardless you shouldn’t limit the things a person can do just because they happen to be smarter than you.
